A Night Away from Studying. Last night, for the first time in a long while, some friends and I took the night off. Our first exam is this upcoming Monday. We were stressed. We were tired. We needed a time out. We took a moment out of our busy day to set aside our books and have a barbecue together, to talk about what else is happening in our lives outside of class.  It was a calm before the storm, as we talked, laughed, and ate. Medical school and all of its worries seemed to fade away into a distant memory. To top it all off, we ended up going to the theatre to watch the Avengers, a fantastic summer action film that helped us de-stress. Sure, we may have written off six hours of potential study time, but I think what we gained in return was worth more than that.
