Real Monsters by Toby Allen.

Illustrator Toby Allen has created a set of artwork that is intended to give intangible mental illnesses faces and make them appear more manageable as physical entities.

The artwork can also be purchased here.

Spine Vodka by Johannes Schulz.

Designed by Hamburg-based designer Johannes Schulz, the concept of a clearly visible backbone to this vodka is meant to represent a drink that has nothing to hide. Brilliant look and creative design.

The Body Systems by Rachel Ignotofsky.

Beautifully illustrated representations of five of our body systems. They are what keeps us moving, thinking, eating, breathing, living.

Aspirin: Calm Down Your Head by Jacco Prüsmann.

When I do get headaches, they are typically of the tension variety. A bad night on call, heightened stress, and irregular eating schedules all contribute to the headache onset.

This artist has tried to visualize metaphors for a pounding headache. Is it a cohort of ladies cowering from a large spider or elephants shrieking at a mouse?

For my headaches? A loud and noisy construction crew working to pull down the house from the inside out.

How do you describe your headaches?

Home First Aid Kit by Gabriele Meldaikyte.

The concept behind this first aid kit is to make it usable by only one hand in those moments where you must treat yourself. In addition, the interface and signage have been designed to make it understandable even for children.

Superformula to Fight Cancer.

This is a very heartwarming idea. In a bid to give children afflicted with cancer hope and inspiration, the designers at JWT Brazil have created “super formula” cases for their chemotherapy regimens. These formulas come with a video vignette, showing the superheroes affected similarly, and getting stronger when they take their very own super formulas.

If this can give a child the strength the carry on, or even bring a smile to their face, then these cases have done their job.

Standard Operating Procedure design for Threadless by Ian Burns.
This is exactly what happens in the operating room every time. You need steady hands so always make sure you lay off the coffee before scrubbing in. A fun and neat design that tickles the surgical side of me.

Blood of Grapes, Wine Bottles Shaped Like the Human Heart by Constantin Bolimond.
Now that is very clever. I could see this being a nice thank you gift for a cardiologist or a hematologist. I love the fluid shape and the high contrast used in the design. It really makes for an eye-catching shape that just immediately grabs you and will not let go.
