A Long Time Coming.
After a long drive back to the city today, I am half a day away from seeing my significant other again. I cannot even begin to express how excited I am for this. After three months and twenty four days, tomorrow is just about the best day ever.

Medicine is tough; being in a long distance relationship as well is even tougher. The last time I saw my significant other in person was 109 days ago. I am pleased to say that that is all going change in a week.

One of the downsides of being in a long distance relationship is realizing that I cannot be there in person to celebrate the special days with my significant other. Having said that, we always find a way around our obstacles.

These past few days have not been much of study days or posting days. They have taken a backseat as I dealt with some developments in my long-distance relationship.
Make no mistake, relationships in medical school are difficult. There are a lot of external forces at play that are constantly trying to pull us apart. Be it the schedule or the distance, these are things we fight day in and day out to protect that fragile balance.
With the faculty bringing third year and its choices to our attention, this have been a challenging week as we reflect on how we move forward with even less time together.
